A Closer Look at the Wii Edition
Continuing our broad look at the recent ASR get-together in France with Fox Gungrave and Eversonic, we have six screenshots from the game’s Wii edition to show you.
Unfortunately the shots really do tell the tale of what Wii owners will get compared to their next-gen counterparts. Poly counts are noticeably lower and the environment modeling doesn’t quite have the polish. But as noted in the Q&A, Sumo Digital will be true to its word in trying to have all the tracks across all the editions–you can see Sonic speeding through Curien Mansion. There also appears to be what could be the Billy Hatcher’s Blizzard Castle stage.

Looks pretty good for a Wii game but still buying the 360 version thou
Hmm. Considering how well Black Knight looked, it seems like SUMO could do better. But it still looks like it could be fun, who knows. Graphics don’t make gameplay.
Looks very clean, and great graphics as long as it runs at 60 fps. If not, then it is disappointing and will look for another version.
…I’ve seen the Wii do better. Why do people underestimate the system? I’ve seen games released for Wii that have worse-than-Gamecube graphics, but it’s forgive because it’s “for the Wii”.
It gets really annoying sometimes.
We all know the wii can better. But… this ASR, they don’t give it the best Wii graphics or something. But they still gave us some good ones!
Hey, as long as they dont take away any tracks or characters, im good.
And with Wii games, screenshots dont really do it justice, (the pic with Shadow and AiAi looks like absolute crap), but graphics like these look MUCH better in motion.
I think it looks decent and very close to the 360/PS3 versions in terms of overall look.
But yeah, I understand that people seem to underestimate the Wii. There are some stunning looking games on it. Umbrella Chronicles and Black Knight certainly come to mind.
