A Worthy Cause, Failing Miserably
The latest TSSZ News @Issue poll turned over to readers and community members an opportunity to sound off on The Sonic Stadium’s No Drama ’09 initiative. Though not intended to be a referendum on ways to bring the community closer together, the results of our two week poll show that much work needs to be done–and may force TSS webmaster Svend Joscelyne, who proposed No Drama ’09 in January, to consider whether the effort is worth it.
Out of 243 votes, 72% thought the initiative was not successful. Only 28 percent felt it was. It may be a decisive vote against the campaign, and if nothing else, it shows the community at large has a long way to go before peace can be achieved between all areas of the Sonic scene.
A new poll is now available for you to vote on.

What drama was there? The only one I can think of was the Sonic Retro incident, which was brought on by a bunch of try-hard die-hards. “You have a week, Sonic retro”, get real. And a life.
I was one who emphatically voted “No.” Anyone who voted “Yes” is kidding themselves. Although good in THEORY, their initiative was over before it started, beginning with the shutdown of the first forum and the drama that spouts out. I even see some drama on the SSMB sometimes, including one between the SS staffers and Tristan a while back. Sometimes I actually CAUSE some drama by calling out some so-called Sonic “fans” and literally question their loyalty to the franchise.

awsome! listen to this music!
For one, you can’t control a fanbase.
Two, people don’t like being controlled.
Three, don’t ever expect peace till SEGA gets Sonic back together.
NO drama is a joke just like most of the staff at Sonic Stadium
as serpx said, you can’t control a fanbase, no matter how fucking big your ego is.
I can’t help but think that most of the drama with the Sonic Stadium this year has come out of this website.
…not entering discucion about OUR Sonic …
@Shadi: Exactly.: SMMB staff will cuss you out when you PM them about thread issues. It’s very comical that the world’s biggest Sonic site’s forum can’t even be remotely kid-friendly–let alone professional. I’m also a bit bothered by the trashy news articles on the TSS’s front page. Some staffers insensitively joke about Down Syndrome (“Down Syndrome” Sonic), swear worse than pirates, and even use sexual innuendos. This is ridiculous–no, pathetic. TSS is just another reason why Sonic is going down the tube, despite the decent staff and efforts like SoS.
Oh, and about Sonic community drama overall: I recently have seen a mass troll attack on a certain individual. It got so ridiculous that this person had to drop a project and pass it on to someone else. Sadly, the same attacking and hate will probably happen to this new project leader as well.
Luckily, this isn’t the majority of the Sonic community. It’s just that the very few loonies in the Sonic community are more active than most fan bases. How to counteract this? There should be zero tolerance for this crap, and I’m totally for banning those who repeatingly swear or make fun of others. Professional sites like Head-fi.org don’t put up with garbage like this, and look at where they’re at!
Actually, I’ll give my proper two cents on this
TRISTAN EDIT – Actually, no you won’t.
Perma-banned.

I wonder if people thought the poll was talking about no drama on TSSZ. I know I did.
