Sega Titles on Wii Also Going on Sale, Shunning XBOX360

Nintendo Lovers will Also Love 40% Discounts

Sega has affirmed quite clearly it’s “Sega Mega Sale” will also apply to several titles currently at Nintendo’s Wii Shop Channel.  Still, a lesser known comment affirms such treatment won’t be coming to the XBOX360, or titles in its Marketplace.

The discount for Sega’s Virtual Console titles will run about the same time as the its PS3 and PSP counterpart will, from December 24th through January 6th.  Sonic 1, 2, and 3 are among the 40% discounted items, as is ToeJam & Earl, Altered Beast, Shining Force, and other titles.

A tweet today from Sega’s community team, however, affirmed owners of Microsoft’s XBOX360 won’t get the a similar sale.  The comment was made early yesterday afternoon, in response to another Twitter follower’s question:

No XBLA sale, just PSN and Virtual Console.

What gives?  No reason was given for the shutout, but when you consider Banjo-Kazooie’s exclusivity in the XBOX360 edition of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, perhaps it all evens out.
