I feel like I should point out that the only time the game -does- seem to be struggling is when it's loading a new wave of enemies. It noticeabley slows down, often times even freezing for a fraction of a second, before carrying on smoothly. Besides the intermission hiccups, as was said in the review, the graphics are breathtaking for a DS game and even if everyone is casting a GiFoie at the same time, the game never slows down in combat.

The ability to shout commands to your teammates offline helps- however if you tell them to fight any way they want to, they'll all drop any intelligence they once possessed and walk straight into a boss's attack range like mindless lemmings.

PSZ is a game that makes you think you've only spent a few minutes playing, but it ends up stealing quite a few hours away from your life, just like PSO! I love it! =D

Fantastic review Ryan. I feel exactly as you do about almost every issue. As a long time PSO DC vet, I'm happy to see this style of gameplay return, especially after enduring the painful mess that was PSU for so long.

It's too bad however that PSZero performed so poorly commercially both in the USA and Japan. This, coupled with the success of Phantasy Star Portable, guarantees us more games In the same vein as the Universe series. It's aggravating to see ST desperately layer features onto what remains a broken and sloppy game.
