Expected Cuts from Hundreds of Responses
In extending their tease, Sega of America today cut Vector and Tikal from playable consideration in Project Needlemouse. As with yesterday, it was an expected cut. On Monday, we projected an expectation of 1-3 characters left standing when this promotion was all said and done. Many fans are putting a big bet on the presence of Shadow and Amy should more than one character be in the game, and with both not yet rejected, that looks more like a possibility.
More than 900 correct responses were submitted toward yesterday’s challenge, and that means a second bonus point in the Sega blog challenge was achieved. Three or more are needed for Sega to presumably reveal something substantive on Project Needlemouse Friday.
Today’s trivia challenge is centered on the Sega forums, and here are those questions:
- How many acts were in each zone of Sonic 1?
- What was the first game to feature Super Sonic?
- The original Sonic the Hedgehog featured special stages with morphing backgrounds – can you name two of the animals seen in that background?
The posts must be on Sega’s forums to count. 750 correct answers are needed for the challenge to be complete–with 1,000 for the bonus. We’ll let you know how that pans out tomorrow.

Yes indeed.. Its actually pretty fun. And there is no game at the moment I want to see more than project needlemouse……………………………………………………………………..We need that last point!!! >:(

@ yvarthecreator, same as you here, even there is a part of me that actualy wants to see this game surpass NSMBW, just like the beatings Sonic used to give to Mario back in the good old genesis days. Besides this advertising campaign is kinda fun
BTW it wouldn’t surprise me if only hedgehogs make it out of the cut as it is already being implied in the “needlemouse”name even when Shadow is technically not 100% hedgehog due to having alien DNA.

There’s 100% chance is Sonic, Amy and Shadow are main playable characters in this game.

Maya, I understand, I just try to look at the positive aspect of everything, and I believe SEGA’s charm will show with the game. No offense to you was intended, just I too am a little tired of complaints about Sonic or Sega.
How can Chip and Tikal not be chosen over Shadow, he better not win. Also how the crap is Shade still in the race, it makes no sense at all.

Wait a sec. Has anyone notice that all the question have to do with Sonic 1 & 2 and not anything else. Also all the characters on the list (besides Amy) appear after Sonic Adventure. EPIC FORESHADOWING!

Hey man, give Shadow some credit. In SA2 he was cool. In Heroes he was… dark. In Shadow, he was…disturbed(whole alien father thing ya’know…). And in Sonic 06′…. well he had the best storyline in the game(= no paradox/retconning).
And give Lancealot some credit, his 2nd boss fight was a challenge.
Another Sonic fan cycle, WOW everyone calm down it just a game. No one played the DARN! game yet. Everyone just asuming when no actual gameplay footage or video has been released and u guys keep braging for classic sonic design, when classic sonic was over, over 10 years ago, i’m not saying its not going to be classic but, I rather just wait for actual footage before u make a comment. Everyone is making it like if its not classic its going to be bad, NO! its how they make the game. So please everyone stop the cycle, wait to you play before u judge.

On estimate, I’d say about 730 are in there right now. We definitely won’t make today’s bonus. We should be able to make the regular amount, though.
To be honest, I’m not exactly surprised… Are the SEGA forums really all that popular? The grand majority of posts in that topic are also mostlikely the sole post made by each person.
