So Says Amazon’s German Listing
XBOX360 users of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing will get Banjo-Kazooie and Avatars. Wii players may get a variety of wheels and merchandise, along with Mii support. Now, evidence has surfaced Playstation 3 lovers may get….extra controller support.
Oh happy day.
A Sonic Stadium report and translation cites a listing for ASR within Amazon’s German page, which suggests Sony’s wireless, motion sensitive controller will be compatible with the game. That may offer players an alternate method of control, almost but not quite in the same vein as a Wiimote.
Translated, one of the PS3 bullet points reads:
Even more dynamism [sic] in breathtaking races with Sixaxis control
It may not all be bad news. The addition of SixAxis may open the door for up to 7-8 player races offline. Other PS3 games, notably titles in the 2K Sports series, allow 7 player offline action via SixAxis, and a few like Buzz: Quiz TV! can handle eight at a time with the mehtod. In this context, the capabilities remain to be seen.
Also of note here is how Amazon’s German outlets are reporting the presence of 27 tracks for all edition of ASR, and not 24. Most other retail outlets have honed in on 24 tracks, if they’re saying anything at all. Amazon’s US page for ASR makes no mention of track count.
This may not be the only feature exclusive to PS3; that is to be determined. But in case it is, we’d like to hear from PS3 owners interested in ASR–all other things considered, do you feel short-changed? Tell us in our comments section.

I thought they stopped using Sixaxis.
7-8 players…..well….then….eeerr….I mean when you play 4 player on one game then…you…well you know this split screen thing. Well, the more players they are, the less the screens gets. Or is there any other system when they use this or jav I miss understood it all?
I hate Sixaxis, it annoys me. Hope you can switch it off.
After the project needlemouse dissapointment this almost make up for it.
SIXAXIS is actually fun for me. It will be the equivalent motion contrrol as in Wii.
I highly doubt this will be a manditory control scheme. Matter of fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t even control the car completely, but is instead used for something more minor like the mid-air trick system.
Im gettin it for Wii. If anyone wants to race me in Curien Mansion online, bring it on!
