Taxman: I Didn’t Leak Needlemouse Info on 4chan

Also Says He’s Not Involved with Needlemouse

We just got this in a couple minutes after publishing a story that has since been retracted.  The story involved alleged details for Project Needlemouse being revealed by a 4chan poster claiming to be Christian Whitehead, known as The Taxman.

Whitehead just returned our request for comment, and tells us that poster was an imposter.

“It’s definitely not me,” Whitehead told TSSZ News.  “Someone was obviously just trolling the boards.”

Whitehead went a little further on Sonic Retro and laid to rest any murmurs of his involvement with the next Sonic.

“I’m not involved with Project Needlemouse,” Whitehead elaborated. “That is all.”

It is short, it is sweet, and it is enough for us to retract the story that involved Whitehead’s handle from our site.  It’s actually a retraction double shot: because Whitehead made clear he’s not involved with the game, we’ve also retracted a September 9th story that speculated on the possibility, and was clearly labeled as rumor.

But be advised: With some of the weird things happening of late regarding Needlemouse, it remains likely that some of the details from that conversation–as well as details reported here and elsewhere Friday regarding the game–are accurate.  It is why TSSZ News is now treating this matter as a leak, and not as pure rumor.  Hate the sinner, love the sins.  We will keep tabs.
