On EBay, A Vintage Sonic Plushie

By now, you’ve looked at this picture and may have wondered either this is a ripoff item, or if Sega really condoned Down Syndrome Sonic in its product line for a time.

But some of our older readers may remember these plushies.  This one is from 1993, and was made by Dakin–and a celebrated Sonic scener has it on EBay.

Our friend SSNTails wrote in to tell us he’s putting it up for auction.  It’s been in storage for a while, but it’s withstood the test of time.  Bidding is going on now–as of the time of this article’s publication, it stands at just $9.99–but it won’t last.  The auction will end Monday evening.  If nothing else, it’s a nice piece of old-school history.

Thanks go out to SSNTails for letting us know of the auction via our News Tips system.  If you have news to share, be sure to share it with us by clicking News Tips at the top of every page.

I think this is the same exact one I had when I was a kid. I took that thing EVERYWHERE. If I didn’t lose him at the grocery store, I’d probably be runing around with him to this day! … Maybe. >_>

I still have mine, and a Tails too! Boxed up nowadays, but I used to take them -everywhere-.

awww. I own that same plush too. It is pretty beat up. I brought that plush everywhere and I often considered it to be my best friend. I used to own more Sonic plushies but eventually I gave all of them away save that one because it had the most sentimental value out of all the plushies I own. Now it sits on my bureau at home, I plan on keeping it forever.

awesome, I still have that very plush (and its flat quills) and it’s still more or less in good condition

….never did find, let alone see the Tails one though…

The interesting thing about this plush is that it has a very long tail, more like a mouse, instead of that cute little nubby tail he usually has.

Oh so if I’m selling a full set of Sonic X Trading Cards, that’s considered news? =/

Let me know when someone has the Shadow and Silver display promotional statue for Sonic ’06 on eBay.
