“Green Hill Galaxy” Teased by British Magazine
For those who’ve wanted to see Mario and Sonic together in a platforming environment, prepare your jaw to hit the floor…if this is true.
We have a news tip in from Playx4, who is ultimately citing the Twitter feed of British magazine NGamer; this isn’t coming from any random place. Two tweets from the magazine staff indicate Sonic will make an appearance in the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy 2–and the hedgehog will be playable.
Here are the two tweets of note, dated just a few hours ago, and NGamer claims they are “from a trusted source:”
We’ve just had some shocking news from an inside source at Nintendo: Sonic will be a playable character in Mario Galaxy 2! Wha?

It is kinda hard to believe just on its merits alone. But what is now NGamer has been around for a while; though this incarnation has only been around since 2006, the entity is owned by Future Publishing–the same folks that own GamesMaster and the CVG website–and the Nintendo specific magazine has existed in some form over in Britain since 1992.

That there is a history of crossover is the only reason there’s a story about this here. But I know we have readers from the UK here–is NGamer notorious for practical jokes?

This honestly makes no sense whatsoever. I mean, really, since when has any other character been playable in a major Mario release? I can understand Brawl and M&S because those are specific games that are centered around the two’s inclusion together.
But the fact that Sonic may be playable in a major Mario platformer….it’s like a major OMGWUT on the forehead.

But it’s too random to be real, isn’t it…? Besides, I’m not sure Nintendo would be too happy about sticking Sonic into a game that’s cited to be an IMPROVEMENT on Galaxy.

To the guy above me that’s a little weird in the haha or scream in terror sort of way. Though given Mario and Sonic’s history toigether over the last few years it wouldn’t be the stragnest thing I’ll hear all year. Though think about we don’t know if this is some sort of cameo appearance or not.(that is if it’s true.). Even so it say’s “only” in Green Hill Galaxy. So there is the chance he won’t be seen as much, well storywise anyway. Though the funny thing is I’ve wondered about a Super Mario Galaxy and Sonic crossover though I don’t I though it was he stuff of imagination. Oh well with Sonic 4 gaining in information this year ought to be good.

First of all, This is called “Super MARIO Galaxy” not “Super Mario and Sonic Galaxy”
Second, Green Hill Galaxy sounds promising but when you mention Sonic to be playable as well, it’s a downright lie.
Btw remember in a magazine they said Sonic and Tails were playable in Super Smash Bros Melee.?
Yeah it’s best not to trust these kinds of magazines unless Nintendo actually says something.

Nintendo may not need help selling, but Sonic certainly does.
This seems to be some kind of joke; if only because it is so unbelievable (for lack of a better term). Sonic and Mario in a proper game together without them both being in the title.
Still, I will try to follow all news for SMG2 just in case.

Yes Sonic does but the thing here is if this is true its more like Nintendo asked Sega with there permission to have Sonic in there game i mean i honestly doubt Sega asked them because they should know full well its a main series Mario game if Nintendo asked them then Nintendo is going to be getting some rants on how they been changing alot these years.

I can see where you’re coming from, but it happened with Snake in Brawl, did it not? And if SEGA can see that Nintendo’s main franchise is doing well, why wouldn’t they at least ask about Sonic showing up in it? After all, if they had the opportunity to borrow a little of Nintendo’s success, why wouldn’t they?

Yes Nintendo asked Sega if Sonic can be in Brawl which means the Sonic fans buy the game to as for Snake the creator of Snake asked Nintendo if he can be in Brawl. I think that its more like Nintendo asked Sega for some reason because the game SMG2 looks good but from what i see not much improvement only new things added is Yoshi and Drill and besides this as I said before Nintendo might be doing this to get the Sonic fans to buy SMG2 i am really just going to rent it on gamefly.

Thats another thing i hate about Nintendo these days they have forgotten there other franchises some ppl disagree with me i mean its a bit obvious they have i mean how may years has it been since Starfox, Donkey Kong, F-Zero and somewhat Kirby (Kirby Super Star Ultra was a remake so not considered completly new) and ya i agree with ya Mario gets like 2-4 games every year its just a matter of time before they run out of ideas for Mario i think.

Hey, they care more about their IPs then SEGA. I don’t see Shenmue III happening anytime soon. And when was the last time we had a Jet Set Radio game? What about Chu Chu Rocket? Billy Hatcher? Space Channel 5? Skies of Arcadia? Ristar? Alex Kidd? They’re too busy fanning Sonic while we might be lucky and get a Puyo Pop game or a Phantasy Star one, but never anything else of SEGA’s rich and vibrant history.
While interesting and pretty damn funny, this is not true. Nintendo barely even makes Luigi playable in Mario games, Sonic is out of the question.

Well as much as i like Sega dont get me wrong when i say this but Sega and some of there other franchises are not really recognizible as much the most recognizble i would have to say would be besides Sonic NIGHTS, AiAi, Billy Hatcher, Sambe De Amigo, Phantasy Star and Shenmue at least Sega is showing them in Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing Nintendo doesnt give Mario a break who is already suscessful while Sonic needs alot of recovery because some fans dont appreciate some of the Sonic games like Sonic Rush, Sonic Rush Adventure, Sonic and the Secret Rings and Sonic Unleashed were not considered all that great to fans and theres alot of complaining from them when a game isnt sucessful :/

I COULD see a cameo, that would make sense. Galaxy 1 had referances to another series, I forget which one though.
