UPDATE: Ivy the Kiwi? Coming to Wii, DS Proper

Tristan Oliver | February 5, 2010

And Namco Bandai is Involved

This is a two-for-one article involving Ivy the Kiwi?, the latest work from Yuji Naka’s Prope studio.  TSSZ News has learned Namco Bandai and likely not Sega will be involved in bringing the game off the mobile platform and onto the Nintendo Wii and DS.

As it turns out, the game will be released to WiiWare, DSiware, and retail.  April 22nd is release day in Japan.  There is still no indication that Ivy the Kiwi? will come to the west.

First, from our TSSZ News contributor in Japan, Danny Russell, we have a translated synopsis of the game from this week’s Famitsu magazine:

“Ivy the Kiwi?” will be available on both DSiWare and WiiWare in Japan on the 22nd of April 2010.
The goal of “Ivy the Kiwi?” is to lead Ivy to the end of the level by drawing a line under Ivy’s feet using either the DS stylus or Wiimote. The game is displayed in an old, sepia book style and both versions come with a 4-player race mode.
I’d say it looks like a stylised cross between LucasArts’ “Lucidity” and HAL LAboratory’s “Kirby: Canvas Curse”.
And now, with thanks to GoNintendo and the Japanese site Game Watch, we have several screenshots from both editions of the game.  Before you head to the gallery, we should tell you about Namco Bandai’s home base for Ivy the Kiwi?.
