Once Cancelled, Now New Screenshots Inside
Amid accusations of sprite stealing, the promising Sonic fan game Sonic Whirlwind had been cancelled as of November.
It’s back now.
There’s not a whole lot to speak of, besides the screenshots we have in the gallery below. Creator segasonicfan4life indicated on Sonic Fan Games HQ that it will be along the lines of Sonic 3 in terms of the availability of shields and characters, and also like Sonic CD, in terms of plans for a Super Peel Out move, a la the game. Sonic Whirlwind will also use the Sonic Worlds engine.
So, take a look at some of the screenshots in the gallery below. Originally, Whirlwind showed a lot of promise, and with this revival, there’s hope for good things with this project again. We will keep you informed.

Why is the level Green Hill Zone? Isn’t it bad enough when the first level of a game looks like Green Hill Zone, but does it have to BE Green Hill Zone?
@SpeedingHedgehog
There is nothing wrong with Green Hill Zone, or even having a GH-themed Zone. As for the themes, there are only so many different themes that can be had, so reusing themes is to be expected. As for using GHZ itself, it was a good introductory level to the entire series; it allowed playing around with the physics in order to get used to the game, and it also was short enough to be blasted through quickly once one got the hang of playing the game.
