Video: Know Your Non-Sonic ASR Characters
Tristan Oliver | February 9, 2010
For those Well Versed in Sonic, But Not Sega Fandom
Don’t know a Beat from a B.D. Joe? Can’t tell apart Jacky from Akira? What the Hell’s an Opa, anyway?
Have we got the series for you.
The YouTube channel BlastProcessed is producing a series of videos showing where some of the lesser known characters in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing are featured. The series is geared toward Sonic fans in particular, and the intent is twofold: It gives viewers a better perspective of who they’re playing in-game, and it raises awareness of Sega’s overall history and lesser known franchises.
The video below is a prime example of what to expect. The piece shows Opa-Opa‘s appearances from the Fantasy Zone franchise and in the Japanese ANIME Zillion. We bet you didn’t know Opa-Opa was animated.
More videos are available at the link above, and more videos from BlastProcessed are expected in the coming days.

Wow. I had no idea who Opa-Opa even was before this… Crazy…
He he… I know Opa-Opa since I was 5
Fantasy Zone for Master System was one of the best games of the system, and Mega Drive / Arcade versions are wonderful too. I didn´t like Fantasy Zone 2 for MS that much, or that Fantasy Zone with PacMan gameplay…
I absolutely love the design of the game (characters, enemies and levels), some bosses are really epic.
ALL SEGA CHARACTERS ARE AAAAAWSOME best game characters ever created
Is this an example of why Sonic fans are POSs? Yes, yes it is.
I have no clue what’s going on. Damn Japanese and your weird ass games! lol
