“Get Ready,” Says Producer/Director
Will this be the year anxious SFGers will get a new peek at the highly anticipated Sonic Nexus?
Sonic Nexus producer and director Brad Flick has begun dropping hints that something substantial may come to fruition at this year’s Sonic Amateur Games Expo.
“All I have to say on the Nexus front is ‘get ready,’ ” he said last week on the SSMB. Aside from a vague reference linking this statement and the upcoming 15th SAGE, Flick did not elaborate further.
Given the SFG’s very secretive nature of late, any news promoting a possible future release is welcome. But this song and dance has been done before. In 2008, the Nexus Team narrowly missed SAGE, and was released a week later in time for Labor Day. And in 2009, despite being promoted in trailers, a new build of Sonic Nexus, planned for release, never made it to the expo, and little has been heard publicly on the project since.
It appears the Nexus Team is determined not to miss showing off new material this year. That noted, plans for SAGE are still very early in development. We will keep tabs.
