And with More Characters to Boot
If we’re not losing anything in translation here, it appears the next and perhaps final version of Japanese Sonic fan game Sonic Battle Lost Ending Neo will be out in time for Summer.
There will, apparently, be more characters to choose from when that next edition is released. The website shows off silhouettes of four Sonic characters, including Cream and Chaos from Sonic Adventure.
The SFG has been enjoyed by quite a few in the fan game community since being discovered last year. The next release should do no harm in growing the game’s list of fans. We will let you know when the new edition of Sonic Battle Lost Ending Neo is out for you to enjoy.

I hope Blaze & Metal Sonic are playable
New character? Woot. My brother and I played the heck out of this game over the past couple months and we loved it. We even made a tier list.
S: Amy
A: Sonic, Silver, Rouge
B: Shadow, Knuckles
C: Omega, Gamma
D: Tails
I’ll only explain Amy. She has an inescapable combo (due to the nature of the attack, it is IMPOSSIBLE to recover) that gets rid of at least half of most characters’ health. Her projectile beats all others and easily guard crushes. She has multiple invincible charging moves. And she can heal.
I’ll explain other characters if people ask.
Hey Some Guy, I’m interested, explain away.
Btw, I’m a huge fan of this game, I also wrote down a Tutorial of the basics if anyone’s interested:

Oh, and the characters silhouettes on the website are Jet, Cream, Chaos 0 and Emerl, but the text says “and more…”, so we can still hope for others. ^^
@ilcane87
Gladly. I’ll go top to bottom.
Sonic: He’s incredibly fast (as expected). His dash is one of the few that goes through characters instead of just pushing them, allowing for crossups and an ability to easily get out of the corner. He also has incredibly fast attacks, most noticeably his aerials and hurricane kick. His bounce attack is nigh unstoppable; because Sonic drops to the ground so quickly, bringing the opponent with him, it is very difficult to recover. This lets Sonic set up for yet another combo, improving his rushdown game.
Silver: Silver is a crossup master. Repeated use of his dash and teleport attack make it very difficult for the opponent to block in the right direction. In addition, his teleport attack sometimes causes passout, allowing the attack to be looped until the player messes up the input. His counter move counters anything, including supers. His Down Fierce attack in the air (where the spike shoots up from the ground) is extremely quick and excellent in catching opponents off guard. Finally, his energy sphere projectiles go both high and low. This makes them near impossible to dodge, forcing the opponent to block and receive a guard crush.
Rouge: A rushdown-oriented fighter, she specializes in trapping opponents in the corner and delivering guard crushes with her numerous multi-hit attacks, most noticeably her rapid-kick super. Her aerials combos are among the best in the game, and if the opponent does not recover, then they can be looped multiple times. After Rouge grabs her opponent, she can easily follow with up to 2 soundwave supers (the golden sphere one) for easy, inescapable damage.
Shadow: Shadow’s best move in this game, hands down, is Chaos Control. If he traps the opponent in the corner while it is active, Shadow can repeatedly use his fierce attacks to get rid of almost half of most character’s health bars. Two of those, and he’s won. Unfortunately, he relies too heavily on Chaos Control for damage, as many of his other attacks are very slow and easily countered. He does have a fast projectile with his gun, though. Too bad it has to reload.
Knuckles: His Back-Forward Light attack (the punch-to-glide autocombo) is amazing. It has really high priority and range, and beats most other attacks when they clash. His earthquake super is great, too, doing a lot of damage when it hits. Even when the punching part of the combo is blocked, the earthquake almost always still hits the opponent. His Heat Up helps him too, but its a bit of a double edged sword. Unfortunately, Knuckles is somewhat slow, and he has a difficult time landing most of his attacks. He also has a poor projectile, and his lightning super is easily nullified or blocked. Knuckles has to get close in order to deal damage, which is a difficult task for him.
Omega: He seems to have the most health in the game, and he does a lot of damage to his opponents. He has a wide range of projectiles, his best being the gray energy sphere (Down-Forward Light). His supers are also amazing, coming out very quickly for someone of his size, while still doing a lot of damage. However, Omega is very slow, in both moving and attacking. He is also a huge target. These two qualities put him at a disadvantage against some of the faster characters, who can dance circles around Omega.
Gamma: Gamma’s main weakness is his ammo bar. Unlike Omega, who uses relatively little ammo with his specials and supers, Gamma eats away all of his ammo when he uses specials. He has a variety of projectiles, but not very good ones. Many of his attacks can be Just Defended easily, allowing the opponent to escape or attack him from behind. He does get credit for his missile launcher and laser supers, as well as his charging drill attack, which can be looped quickly. However, the drill attack, one of his best moves, takes away 12% ammo (though if you have 0%, you can still use it. Huh?). His explosion is a double edged sword. If it kills the opponent, Gamma wins the match, even though both have zero health. If it doesn’t, the opponent has time to charge his special meter for a few seconds before the next round begins.
Tails: Just plain sucks. He should be in his own tier, the Joke tier, but we decided to be nice. His specials are very slow and do little damage, and his supers are easily Just Defended or evaded (they don’t do that much damage either!). His dummy ring bombs, meant to prevent an opponent from approaching safely, don’t work like they’re supposed to; one can easily superjump over all of them. He also has the worst projectile in the game (his arm cannon). His only noticeable attacks are his fierce attacks, that can be looped on the opponent (for a while), and his boxing glove glide.
Heh, I guess you’ve been playing the game on a whole other level, I’m not That good.
I did notice Tails was a bit low on damage, since most of the times I couldn’t even defeat enemies before the time ran out… he’s supposed to be the best at aerial combos (from the website stats), but it’s actually pretty hard to pull off lengthy ones with his move-set.
Anyway, I wish there were more people playing this game, so we could have some Online matches for a change, fighting the AI gets boring after a while.
The program that allows Online play is called Lunaport, if you know some more people who’s into SBLEN we could try it out. ^^
wait…your saying this application is compatible with SBLEN?
I need proof before I download it…
