Watch How This Player Got Close

As most North American Sonic fans saddle up with Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing today, they have a personal best to shoot for–one fans in Europe can go for as well.

That time of just over 2 minutes and 56 and a half seconds is that of Youtuber Qgstkpnjtp, as found by ShadiWulf on NeoGAF.

That’s…pretty intense.  The video below isn’t a play-through of that particular time; it’s of one equally tough: A run of 3 minutes and 99 one hundredths of a second.  Lots of drifting, boosting, and snaking here–amateurs need not apply.

If nothing else, the video shows that despite the stat sheet allegedly not being on his side, with a little bit of player skill, Sonic can still be the fastest thing alive.  Can you beat this time?  Can you at least get close?  Tell us in the comments area below.

   meh over time i could do better… just like how MY time on SU xbox360 on Apotos act 2 is: 1: 57:49 Defantlly something like that….

   I wish that the Xbox 360º version came with somekind of wheel just lke the wii and ps3 , that would be perfect, cause the Xbox 360º one is the version with mroe exclusivs and if it came with that it would be perct

   So then, Lycett lied to us, Level 3 boosts don’t mean shit, so everyone just start snaking and getting by on Level 1 boosts then.

   Seriously, I do the exact same goddamn thing this guy’s doing (to be honest, he even looks a little sloppy in some parts o_O), but I make sure to get Level 3 boosts throughout, even if I have to stack trick boosts onto drifting boosts. The fastest I’ve gotten is 3’06. How does he save that six seconds by getting only three or four Level 3 boosts per lap?

    That’s funny, I’m watching that video and can see plenty of level 3 boosts, you can get the odd cheeky level 1 in on top, but you’ll not sat the time he did just doing level 1 boosts.

    There’s no snaking either. He’s chaining the boosts the way an advanced player is expected too. Lot of skill in that run too

    I have a question for Mr.Sol and Sumo Digital:

    why didn’t you consider Metal Sonic appearance in the game after such success in M&S for example?
    Could he be one of the DLC’s we fans are waiting? thanks you’r the best (after SEGA hehe ;P )

    Doesn’t this game have online leader boards? I hope so…
