Rumor Update: Aptiva Says He Has a Secret, Just Not Sonic Game Related

As was noted yesterday, you would think we’d know better after the previous antics this week.  You are wrong.

Aptiva, the Sonic scener who was the subject of yesterday’s rumor, has cleared the air to assure us he is working on something big…it just doesn’t have to do with any pending Sonic game.

“Sorry everyone, and TSSZ. This is false,” Aptiva originally wrote in a comment to this site.  “While I can’t tell you what my secret is, I can say I don’t work for SEGA, and while my announcement may come from an afilliate of SEGA, it’s not about a new Sonic game.”

Aptiva encouraged viewers of his Sonic Stadium profile not to hate on the now debunked information.

“Please don’t take it out on TSSZ,” he wrote.  “Not their fault that someone tipped them off falsely.”

There’s good news in all of this–with every wild tip that goes wrong, there’s usually some truth embedded, and in this case, it’s that Aptiva will be on hand at next week’s PAX East to release new music of his.

“Truth about our EP being free at PAX, though,” Aptiva continued in his comment.  “I haven’t told anyone not involved the secret yet either.”

And there’s more–Aptiva’s SSMB profile has been updated to reflect that whatever he is working on isn’t a joke in of itself.

“Nah, I can fully confirm it’s not a hoax now,”he added.

So, the good news in all this is all his–it sounds like Aptiva and his band have made a big break, and we may know what that is in a month’s time.  Unfortunately, that break won’t be reflected on any pending Sonic games.  You can take off your tin foil hats now.
