Promised Execution for Next Demo
When the next demo of Felik’s Sonic Fusion is released, it will attempt to do something only a handful of SFGs in past and present have successfully accomplished: Use online multiplayer as a key playing point. Felik made the announcement Saturday on Sonic Fan Games HQ.
“Fully functional multi-player modes will be available in the next demo of Sonic Fusion,” he wrote.
With that came the release of a new video demonstrating the concept: a test playthrough of the game’s Carnival Speedway. You can check that out below. Notice how the concept blends both simple racing and battle elements. Don’t worry, though–Sonic Fusion will still have a pretty deep single player mode. We expect to see elements of both when the next demo is released–likely in the Summer and likely around SAGE time. For now, you’ll just have to take a look at the new video.

Wow, did he really just mix Advanced and Genesis sprites! I can’t believe he did that!
LORD ALMIGHTY. God forbid someone ACTUALLY put time and effort into a SFG. This looks fantastic, and I absolutely love the SADX sound effects. Only thing I really don’t like that much is I feel like in relation to the rest of the environment, Sonic is scaled down a bit, but it’s understandable considering the blend of Genesis and GBA artwork.
Makes me wish I could play FGs.
And hey, Crackers’ Techno Tower. Nice.
the sprites and background kinda hurt the eyes..
