Refining the Experience both for Single and Multiplayer
Even after more than a decade’s work and its original creator AJ Freda moving on from it, Sonic Robo Blast 2 remains a gold standard in fan games, both in execution and following.
Community involvement remains active for this project, and that’s helped to evolve the Sonic Team Junior project even more. Coinciding with the recent opening of SRB2′s ModDB page is a recent focus on improving both single player and multiplayer experiences. Recently, Sonic Team Jr. members released a detailed video of the game’s single player zones. The current build, version 2.0.4, contains several levels, as well as several arenas for multiplayer co-op or combat–not to mention a ton of unlockable material. Online bouts of up to 32 players are now supported, as well as two local players on a splitscreen.
Fans of all kinds will find something enjoyable in this immersive product. Despite the current level of success, STJr have made more attempts to expand SRB2′s reach to more of the Sonic community and beyond. Work continues, but judging from the teaser video below, so far, so good. A multiplayer specific video is expected shortly, and we’ll carry it here upon release. You can download SRB2 v2.0.4 through the ModDB portal, linked above.

It seems funniest than any 3d sonic game, and you know why, well this conserve the sonic’s mojo.

Ehh, this information has been known to us SRB2 players quite some time ago.

Yeah, this fangame truly rules. I´ve been following it since I found it around 2001-2002. Last version is awesome, specially some of the later levels (like Egg Rock ones).
I don´t know how much time we´ll have to wait for the complete game, but I surely know it´ll be worth the wait. Each SRB2 version with new levels blows my expectations.
I used to play SRB2, but, since I got a new computer, I have been waiting for them to fix a segsiv error that I get on start-up. I’ve reported it and hopefully it will be fixed in 2.0.5…
The game fails to support my PS3 controller properly. The control stick is all messed up. I guess I’ll use the old one from a few years ago.
