Another Proof of Concept Inside
Following Ironrind‘s projects for a good while now, it’s evident that despite juggling a lot of projects, the SFGer insists on putting forth the utmost effort in each one of his works.
Case in point: The tech demo video below from Sonic Nebulous 2. While we’re likely a ways away from a proper launch of the title, the finer points of its engine are being implemented…like weather. Environmental elements are being built into the sequel, like rain, snow, fog lightning…and even earthquakes. Weather conditions will change based on an “artificial time” system, according to the video. And if you think it’s just for show, it’s not: conditions in Sonic Nebulous 2 will impact your gameplay within a stage.
Even if Sonic Nebulous 2 doesn’t meet the standards set forth by its predecessor, there will be a lot of neat tricks in that that would have any game developer jealous–that much is certain. Check out the weather engine test in the new video below. Thanks to flame6753 for submitting this into our News Tips system.
