Laid Off Workers Should be Rehired
There’s good news coming out of the recent closures of several GameWorks arcades, at least in Florida.
There, Tampa Bay Online reports that the Ybor City and Miami locations have been bought by A&E Adventures, LLC, which is based in Florida, west of Fort Lauderdale. The Ybor City destination specifically will have a partial re-opening on Friday with the arcades intact, but only a limited menu. A&E Adventures management hopes to rehire all workers laid off when Sega Entertainment shut down shop as part of a restructuring plan.
Eventually, there will be changes at the locations. For one, A&E Adventures will do away with the GameWorks name, and from there, the locations will be marketed more as family friendly destinations.

Well, I guess that’s good. But since it’s no longer owned by SEGA, I guess there’s no more Sonic stuff there.
