Less Than A Fifth Polled Said They Never Saw Them
Sega may want to reconsider its current strategy of C&Ding nearly every mention of recent months’ leaks of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1–because the results of the latest TSSZ News @Issue poll indicate that insight is doing much more good than harm.
Though a plurality exists in the 674 votes cast, one thing is clear: our poll hows 43 percent of respondents are more excited with the next Sonic after seeing the myriad of materials. That is more than double the second most popular choice, which showed 18 percent of those polled were just as excited.
Only seventeen percent of those participating said the leaks made them less excited for Sonic 4. Interesting enough, just two votes separated that choice from those who responded they haven’t seen the leaks. Another seventeen percent of those polled made that choice.
Just five percent were unsure.
A new poll is now available for you to vote on. You may discuss the results of this vote in our discussion area below.

Well, the game looked better than I thought it would be so I’m more excited.
The entire game is built on tried and tired ideas and designs. What’s there to love? Add cheap level design and stupid gimmicks to the mix and you have a souped-up fan game, nothing more.
Yo, Kits’Okami, I’m real happy for you, and I’mma let you finish, but… seriously, have you ever considered this: that in spite of the supposed “tried and tired ideas and designs”, that they STILL liked what they saw?
Just because you subscribe to the “it shares similar themes to an earlier game (it’s ‘the same’), therefore it sucks” metanlity, doesn’t mean everyone does, or should, for that matter. Your apparent opinion myopia concerning “how can anyone see this game in a positive light, when I don’t” is simply quite annoying.
@ Kits’Okami
To put what Komodin said shortly.
Shut the hell up.
It’s hard to say whether I was more excited or neutral: I mean, I only watched a few vids, and then only once.
I really don’t feel like going over my reasons for not being bothered that it’s a “rehash”–again–but I will say this: that by the time sonic 4 is wholly over and done with, that argument will have long been gone. In fact, I’m sure most of the non-aesthetic based concerns will be.

And Tristan, this kind of “Journilism” doesn’t work. I mean when did polls came to news?
…count me in the 18% that didn’t see the leaks.
@3thmthm.
Are you kidding me? Do you ever watch the regular news? Polls are an important part of journalism. They’re like gathering facts on a story… a story about the opinion of those polled. This article is no less relevant than reporting the sales figures of a particular game. The community at large should be interested in what the community at large thinks about the latest addition to the series that community is based on. Simple as that.
People like me never saw the leaks because we didn’t want to spoil the game for ourselves.
I saw some of the leaks, there we some things I like some things I did not like, all in all, im somewhat excited for this game’s release.
What I cant understand is the whole “rehash” arguement, beacuse if Sega does try to emulate the classics they get hate, but when Sega tries to come up with new and original things on ther own….they get hate. There is no wining when it comes to pleasing the fanbase. You either fail or fail less.
Doesn’t Nintendo do that with a lot of their games? Capcom also does things like that as the two newest installments of Mega Man proclaim.
