More of Splash Hill Inside
Late this evening, several news outlets reported the existence of up to thirteen “new” screenshots from the first stage of Sonic the Hedgehog 4. Many of the shots are clean and have been replicated from past magazine articles and other previously disseminated materials, so we have a good faith belief they are official, and were intended to be released for press consumption and review.
With that in mind, we’ve taken the time to weed out what’s likely new to you versus what’s already been published in past stories. We’ve narrowed the field down to five shots, and they are available in the gallery below. We must stress, some may be new to you, and others may not. In fact, a couple are only “new” in the visual sense that the screenshots’ curves and saturation has been changed to match the look and feel of what’s already been published on the Sonic 4 website.
If you’ve seen the video leaks of Sonic 4 (and they were widely publicized) the exercise in relaying this information may be, in your eyes, for naught. There still may be some importance carried with the release, though, as might be the precursor to more firm details being disclosed. There are hints circulating that something more official may be in the works that the leaks had no way of disclosing, so we’ll follow that development–it may come sooner rather than later.

They still haven’t debuted the second zone Casino Street and are still pushing out screens for Splash Hill and still no official gameplay videos, Sega what the hell are you doing with this game? Unless they ramp their PR schedule I’m expecting Episode 1 to hit in August at the earliest.
I do wonder if it’s being tweaked a tad.
Or, we have a situation like the ASR reveals, where once the whole thing is out there, they see no point continuing with full-on promotion.

For the love of god sega GIVE US SOMETHING DIFFRENT!!
Excuse my French, but seriously, fuck Splash Hill. We’ve seen enough of it.
We’ve seen everything, we’ve seen it all.
Who’s this “we” you speak of?
@Dr.Eggfang
I kinda don’t get it. What was the point of that link?
Would you kindly explain?
Funny, just that I didn’t get it and what it had to do with Sonic 4. . .
Is this really all because of the leak? Come on Sega, get your shit together!
kool vut do you have other screenshots of other zones.
um… cool? lol
cool. pictures look so coooooooooooooooool
If SEGA makes sonic adventure 3 it bring them way back up XD
@brandon, knowing how the recent games have turned out, they’d probably mess it up. That closest thing we had to Adventure 3 was Sonic The Hedgehog 2006, and look how that turned out. God awful.
Sonic Unleashed started out as Sonic Adventure 3 at some point, it certainly shares many characteristics with SA1 (Globe trotting, tornado levels, less serious tone, bright colorful stages) Unleashed is called Sonic World Adventure in Japan.
@chaos_controller
Sega is trying to cover up the leaks, but I’ve seen it, I’ve seen everything.
@Shawnspaz16
’06 is pretty bad yes, but in all fairness, the game was rushed. It’s fine for people to say it’s bad, ‘cuase honestly it is. But I don’t like how people always seem to forget this.
All Sonic game rule!
@Skai
actually I would like it if people forget about Sonic ’06….
lately, everytime a new Sonic game come out, people hate it already because they always bring up “SONIC ’06″.
it’s called, “IT NEVER HAPPENED!
”
plus Sonic ’06 wasn’t Sonic Adventure 3….
Oh wow, I’ve never seen these before! Totally awesome!
