With it, 7 New Screens and Wii/DSiWare Release Confirmed
Today, GameSpot published its preview from the domestic edition of Ivy the Kiwi?, originally created by Yuji Naka’s Prope development studio and localized by XSEED Games.
Their first impressions were largely positive, under the belief that Ivy can appeal to broad, family-oriented audiences through its clean, simple gameplay. The previews confirms that XSEED will publish WiIWare and DSiWare editions of the game, offering the first fifty levels for online download on each console. The retail release of Ivy the Kiwi? will have a hundred levels, and will also have co-operative and competitive multiplayer, as explained:
…You can play cooperatively with up to four players, and the others can pitch in and help you draw vines for Ivy. There are also five additional multiplayer levels where you can compete against up to three of your friends in split-screen. Each level can be played in versus mode as long as you’ve completed it in the single-player mode, and the goal is to make it to the finish line first. In the Wii version of the game, you can also interfere with any other player’s screen to make things a bit more hectic.
Complementing the preview, which you can read in full at the link cited above, came the release of seven more screenshots solely from the Wii edition. You can get a first glimpse of the game’s multiplayer mechanics within a few of them. We have those below in our gallery.
