Some Super Models on the Way, Plus Pictures
Today, Sega of America’s community blog published a Q&A with Jazwares’s Joe Amaro. It was a follow-up session after popular demand from the first Q&A, published in March.
Pieces of new information were spread throughout Amaro’s answers. He noted a first look at the company’s Super Sonic and Super Shadow figures will be available in the next issue of ToyFare magazine, published next week. A Super Pack is also in the works, which will include Chaos Emerald collectibles. Amaro affirmed characters such as Blaze the Cat are in the pipeline, while much of the Chaotix–Vector, Charmy Bee, and Espio–along with Eggman, Big the Cat, and Froggy will join the 3 inch line shortly.
Amaro also showed off concept art of Metal Sonic 3.0, which will never make it to the assembly line. That, some ASR figurines, and another piece of Metal Sonic concept art was released by Sega today, and you can see it in the gallery below.

Sweet. I hope they’ll make Tails and Marine figures as time goes by (I like those two). I would love to see that. Then again, it all depends on everyone’s preference, I guess.

Everyone aside from Amigo and AiAi are on my to buy list (especially Silver). It’s nice to see that Metal Sonic 3.0 gets some love, since I am the only person who actually put over 100 hours of playtime and unlocked everything in Sonic Rivals 2… since I love that game a whole freaking lot. But didn’t Metal Sonic 3.0′s paint job look a little different on the spines? My PSP 1, 2 and 3000′s broke and I’ve been to busy buying Disgaea games on my PSP go to re download SR2.
Meh more 5 inch figures please.

… ANOTHER Super Sonic and Super Shadow figure? As long as they are 3 inches and don’t look as crappy as the last ones.
I am a happy (and broke) Sonic collector right now. Joe Amaro seems to be a real Sonic fan. How else would he know that Metal Sonic 3.0 even existed? I know he’s a big fan of robots, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Omega shows up sooner or later. What if they make a 12-inch deluxe figure of him? Even the Egg Pawns need some love. What about badniks? And by the way, Edge, Joe confirmed that the 3 inch Super Sonic will have properly upturned quills. Super Shadow didn’t look bad as a Super Poser, IMO. Really, he just changes color, so I don’t see how they could mess him up. Also, is anyone else in the mood for a Chip figurine? He only appeared in one game, but he’s so cute!
We need chao figures.
