Plus, Several Inadvertent Character Reveals
We’re back from a pretty long exhale after a pretty long first day at E3, and to take you into the night and through Wednesday morning from Destructoid is a pretty clean but still off-camera run through of Sonic Free Riders totaling more than five minutes long.
It is a Sega employee taking the hoverboard for a test drive, picking Jet and speeding through a tropical paradise. You can see some power-ups in action, and as demonstrated, you’ll need to actually have the Kinect recognize your jump in order to perform tricks.
The end portion of the video also spoils some of the characters returning for SFR, including Knuckles, Amy, Storm, Wave, and what appear to be E-10000 branded drones.
Take a look at the video below, and let us know your thoughts in our comments section.

E-10000 branded drones. sucks.
Bring back the chaotix and metal sonic.
if they had time, omega.
I have to say, this looks quite fun. But, I can’t be the only one who cracked up when it came to the swimming portion of that track. That sega employee had waaay too much fun with that part, hahahah.
Please please pleeeeeease let this be the last Riders title ever. Please. This series needed to die after the first one.
Jumping seems very wonky with Kinect, it’s been super laggy with every game that uses it.
What the Hell happened to that guy between 1:55 and 2:04?
E-10000 sucks. The rest looks pretty good, though.
There aren’t as many tricks that you can do since it’s harder to actually act them out. The graphics look good but the courses were
streamlined a bit too much but that was because
we can’t twist our body around that much. The swimming part was pretty funny along with the ink cleaning thingamajig.
First Sonic gameplay vid I’ve ever watched where I can safely say the guy playing was pretty damn good.
n00neimp0rtant @ You’re the one that needs to die.
I love the Riders series!
But I’m sad it’s only for 360
an extra device I don’t want… but have to get because Sega’s lack of THINKING for choosing ALL CONSOLES.
“HEY! Don’t look at the screen, film him boarding! We wanna attract our customers with some hip and radical boarding motion controls for the Wii!”
*360
@ GoldenHedgy
SEGA has no control over the fact that Microsoft is the only one with a device like this.
Well, that’s another reason why I can’t play this game.
Looks good, though. Love how it’s faster than it’s predecessors.
It looks kinde frustrating to play the game. Well, the game looks fast but the track/level looks pretty empty and that so fun. I think this should be both a normal and a Kinect game for the 360. I won’t buy Kinect, if it isn’t cheap of course, but this will probably be for at least 120 $ I think. So please SEGA, make it possible to play with a normal 360 controler. I think more will buy the game then, but there will be less people buying Kinect then of course. But do they really think so many people will buy it at all?
Knuckles, Amy and Wave were shown before the E3 video. Sonic Channel had some shots of them in gameplay screens.
watch when someone breaks their ass from spinning
