A Quick Peek at Platinum Games’s Next Big Thing
There’s plenty of Sonic to go around at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, but Sega is showing other noteworthy items as well.
One of those games is Vanquish, due for release on XBOX 360 and PS3 this October. Developed by Platinum Games, it’s officially classified as a shooter, and it’s the brain child of Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. Set in a future where US-Russia relations are soured, players assume the role of Sam Gideon. With his decked out battlesuit, he’ll use both weaponry and martial arts to recapture control of a space station in Russian hands.
Sega is promising fast combat and a deep storyline where players will be judged on an array of statistics as they progress. For this year’s E3, they’ve released more than a dozen screenshots in anticipation for the game’s fall release, and they are in our gallery below.
