It May Not Be an Anniversary Giveaway, Either
Last year to mark Sonic’s 18th anniversary, Sega community staff gave away a ton of Sonic swag to mark the occasion. This year–and, more specifically, today–something bigger is planned.
That’s the takeaway from two overlooked tweets dated early Tuesday morning on the Sega feed. A follower evidently referenced last year’s giveaway, while there’s a chance of merchandise being given away to mark the occasion, the response–we believe out of Europe–indicates there’s something else in store:
Sonic Stuff Friday! Wow someone recalled that- We might try, to be honest I’m going to be very busy tomorrow. If I can I will.
There’s something else planned but you’ll just have to wait to see what that is.
So, what is it? We suspect that will be made known either later this morning or early this afternoon. Could it be another significant reveal for one of the next Sonic titles? Be assured, we’ll keep watch and let you know of any new developments.

OMFG SONIC 4 EARLY RELEASE FOR 14TH DM
Nope, not really. But I hope it’s something, like, epic. And not like 13-year-old-just-discovered-internet-memes epic. I mean something like Sega takes over Attack of the Show, or they give away a mint-condition Sega consoles pack, or they buy the rights to Sonic Megamix and distribute it as console DLC. THOSE would be epic.
But it doesn’t matter cuz it will probably be free t-shirts or something

There is still high hopes for the franchise. I will just have to wait until that day to find out what they planned to do for Sonic’s anniversary.
Please, NOT another game announcement. They’re making quite enough at once already without throwing yet another one in there.
I just remembered, though: In today’s PSN update, they added a sale on Sonic games (DLC for Sonic 06, Unleashed, and ASR, as well as both Sonic Rivals) in honor of his birthday. I hope that’s not all they’re planning on doing.

I hope is something good and not another announcement, im really hopeful that they would announce a Sonic Adventure 3 but i got my doubts, maybe and i hope for this one, maybe they will annouce sonic colors for the xbox 360 and ps3, ThAT would start a good day with me, another thing Tristan said that theres for game?, i only know of sonic free riders, colors, and sonic 4, whats the fourth’s one named?
While I have the utmost doubt that this “announcement” will be Sonic Adventure 3, I have the utmost faith that there will, someday, be an SA3. What do I base this belief on, you say?

Wait. SEGA is going to pull a Nintendo and announce Sonic 4 episode 2, which features Sonic 4 episode 1 on it for free, before episode 1 hits the download marketplace.

Sega will announce Sonic 4 episode 2 that has Sonic 4 episode one built in for an extra dollar before Episode 1 is released… please tell me someone got that joke.

Why are you guys wishing for sonic adventure 3. Lol you don’t want them to ruin ANOTHER sub continuity within the series do you? They won’t make a game with as smooth an engine as sa1 or sa2 and the storyline certainly won’t match up. FAGETABOUTIT
@flame6753 yeah, it would kinda be In Name Only. But SA1 was my first Sonic game, so I still really want SA3, even though they’d frick it up.

I kind of doubt it’s the 3DS game. I mean, even as of last week it’s unnamed. I’d say that one’s a bit early on to announce, unless they want to get it more widespread in knowledge that there will be one.
My personal bet is on them announcing that the Sonic 4 site will be updated again from now on.
If you get hyped for a SEGA announcement, you’ll most likely be let down.

well crush 40 are doing something for sonic 2011, so it could be sonic adventure 3. i hope it isnt, and is something more original. SA2 is the most over-rated game in the main series imo.
