But Expresses Concern on Encyclopedia Release
Current Sonic comic writer Ian Flynn, despite not knowing about Ken Penders laying claim to several characters in the ongoing series until the news broke yesterday, does not appear terribly phased against it all.
“This is the first I’ve heard of it,” Flynn said on the Bumbleking forums late yesterday after halting discussion of the controversy there. “One way or the other, this will probably wind up in court if Mr. Penders insists on pursuing this course of action.”
Later on in an update, Flynn said he was “concerned” about what any successful claim could do to the upcoming Sonic comic encyclopedia, still planned for release in September.
“Obviously, I was concerned what this might mean for the book,” Flynn said. “Having spoken to the editors, I’ve been told that the lawyers have the situation well in hand and that I – and you all – having nothing to worry about.”
He added, “let’s not dwell on this nonsense.”
That will likely be all we hear from Flynn on the matter, and it’s not year clear how aggressive Penders will get defending his copyrights–or if they will be challenged in court. Fan reaction thus far has skewed heavily against Penders.
TSSZ News will continue to follow developments on this front as the situation evolves.

I too am a Christian and I was very disgusted to hear that Archie was going to print a homosexual character. I never knew that Penders tried to hook up two male echindas in the comic. If that’s true I certainly don’t won’t him to further taint Sonic by getting the rights to the characters. I’m sad to see Archie comic do such a perverted thing in their comics.
@ Jewtastic
I’m pretty sure that the end of a comic book series can’t prove the existance of God… there are a bunch of other things that do though!
