Summer of Sonic Online Registration Opens, with a Slight Setback

Application Didn’t Accept E-Mail Addresses

Within the hour, advance registration opened for the 2010 Summer of Sonic convention.  But those looking to secure their spot for the fan convention had to wait just a bit longer after the announcement.

That’s because several users initially reported the registration system rejecting E-Mail addresses, rendering the process moot.  That means very few, if any, had been allowed to register for Summer of Sonic.

The issue was fixed a few minutes after the problem was discovered.

Advance registration is highly recommended for the Summer of Sonic.  Though the venue has moved to accommodate approximately 1,000 people, organizers cannot necessarily guarantee entry inside to those who simply show up the day of the convention.  That’s especially true when you read the updated Terms and Coniditons to the show, which explicitly state “Possession of a Ticket does not guarantee Entry. Entry will be at SEGA’s and the Venue Staff’s discretion.”  Also of note in the ToS: The express prohibition of recording on the show floor–something that wasn’t so clear last year.
