Screenshots & More Inside
Thankfully, we don’t have to guess the origin of this up and coming Sonic fan game. In development since February, a demo was made available earlier today for Sonic Genesis, the brain child of Sonic scener toaster/Roller.
Players can have a look at the first stage in the release, Jade Hilltop Zone. Originally intended for SAGE, players got their hands on a copy a couple weeks early to mostly positive acclaim. In its final product, Genesis promises the basics, a “classic fangame with many new twists [....] with improved sprites.”
That in mind, get a demo copy for yourself at this link. We suspect Sonic Genesis will be revisited during this year’s Sonic Amateur Games Expo. And if the above rhetoric doesn’t convince you, we have a sampling of screenshots toaster/Roller has furnished via releases below.

The graphics look too… rehashy. The game may be excellent though!
I should start a list counting Sonic Fangames that start with Green Hill/Gree Hill look a likes.
Anyway, it’s alright, the crabs are bouncing you a little hard and I don’t get the purpose of the flying robots. Nothing really new right now but then again it didn’t pretend to be. Still hoping for new levels and enemies. (That crab thing is nothing more than a “Crawl”.)
OH GOD oh god oh god
thanks for the positive comments though. but this doesn’t seem like good publicity, is all, simply because others don’t like this site. no personal offense intended.
We are a polarizing bunch, yes. I am confident our readers here are intelligent, though, and can separate their feelings toward me versus their feelings toward this game.
As long as you don’t speak hyperbole you can’t follow through with, you’ll be fine. =)

Everytime should try holding a spindash after hitting the goal sign it’s hilarious
..and people say Sonic 4 looks uninspired. Hee-larious.
The bouncer crabmeats were smartly placed making the player want to avoid them but never making hitting them overtly punishing.
I nailed a 6 or so combo bonce off badniks and monitors Sonic Genesis is a winner in my eyes
@Haru
One is a fan game by a single person and the other has a whole dev team and art department behind it. One dude gets classic Sonic more than a dev with several 2D Sonics under their belts.
Ok, this was pretty fun, but Sonic being bounced by those crabmeats with bumpers was really annoying.
