Hack Now with Homing Attack
We end the week on a humorous note; on Tuesday, we first told you about the Sonic 2 parody hack underway. Its purpose is to mimic some of the changes Dimps made to physics and other aesthetics in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4.
Another video walkthrough has been released for the project; this time we get a glimpse of Casino Night Zone’s changes. That’s in the video box below. You’ll notice one significant change: a homing attack has been implemented. The music has also been altered to better algin with the perceived music direction of Sonic 4. But project head SOTI is clear not every little detail will be a part of the finish product, so no to green eyes and dust trails, among other things.
The first public release is expected in just a little while. For now, the new video released late Thursday will have to do for yuks. It’s viewable below.

Wait, does he call the green eyes “little detail” or the whole Character design?
But it’s no Dimps Edition without Mr. Floppyspikes! Atleast no complete one..
The only thing this video reminded me of was how much Casino Night sucked, you know, in general.
I MAED SONIC 2 FASTER NAO ITS LIKE DIMPS
LOLOLOLOLOL IM SO CLEVER
I actually mentioned the music change on Retro, and SOTI said he was just experimenting, and that music changes likely won’t be in the final release. Just thought I’d point that out. =P

It just looks like someone who was taking insulting the ALPHA BUILD OF SONIC 4 a little too far. Parody or not, these anti-Sonic 4 sentiments before the majority of the audience has played the game are starting to get annoying.
@Haru: Boy are you going to have egg on your face in a few months. Calling it now, this E3 build is going to play near identical to the ‘final’ one. I just got this gut feeling, yanno?
That, and the gameplay looks pretty sloppy. But hell, I’ll prolly have a little fun with it, regardless. Either way, doesn’t effect me much. I’m not that emotionally invested in Sonic 4 to begin with.
This hack needs more boosters. Especially in boss arena.
put the boost in SOTI put the boost
You can’t really call it a homing attack when there’s bugger all to home on in Casino Night.
Wonchop wins. I barely even noticed that the homing attack was in use. It was more like an air dash that saved…a second.
And the places where the boosters were, were mostly in places that you’ naturally be boosted (the spring tunnels, the flippers). The one that wasn’t just fired Sonic into spikes.
@Pur wait until he implements the boost and uncurling(if he ever does) then you’ll say WOOOOW this looks like it’s been done by Dimps but seriously if SOTI implemented the current sonic 4 physics right there it’d be hilarious
‘Sonic Team’ designs the games DIMPS makes. So…
Errr, scratch my earlier comment, apparently in the release the music has been changed. Never mind.
Well, this is retarded. :/
The problem with the music DIMPs used in the Sonic Advanced sereies is that they were lifeless, bland, and their melodies were not catchy. Just changing the music to a MIDI isn’t going to capture that because the base melody is still pretty rockin’. The music in Sonic Rush was a completely different style, as well.
