Inside, Tails Rides a Soda Can…Really
You can look at the video below one of two different ways. You can either be happy Sega so far isn’t adhering so much to the storyline that has either helped or hurt the success of previous Sonic Riders entries. Or, you may just find it silly.
We’re talking about the Soda Can powerup, used by Tails in this playthrough of Sonic Free Riders, as recorded by Games Radar. It’s something not seen before, and the best way to describe it is this franchise’s Bullet Bill.
It appears the GR staff are well enthused with the previously known power-up. How do you feel about it? Watch the video below, then tell us in the comments section. What a janky janky game, this is pushing cheap cash-in launch title to the absolute maximum
I think the Soda-Can thing is pretty cool, if you ask me.
I don’t really get how one power-up is somehow proof that they’re disregarding the story, considering that the Sonic Riders series has always had goofy things like that in both the story modes and in regular gameplay. Not to mention the SEGA rep didn’t mention ANYTHING about storyline.
@Dr. Eggfang Way to make a judgement call on an unreleased game based on a video. Especially considering that the people actually getting hands-on time don’t seem to share your opinion. Seems the main consensus from people who’ve gotten to play it is “good, but very physical to play”. Key term here being people WHO’VE GOTTEN TO PLAY IT.
Still not getting it. This isn’t going to change it for me. Now, don’t start saying I hate the Sonic Riders franchise because I don’t. I just don’t like the fact that this is a Kinect-exclusive. Seriously, this would make great on the Wii…… Honestly, I’m not getting it because of the Kinect.
