We have a potential double dose of new wisp information to pass along today.
First, what’s confirmed: Sega of America today unveiled the Pink Wisp, exclusive to the Wii edition of Sonic Colors. Spiky and similar to Sonic’s famous spines, the wisp will give Sonic stronger spikes, allowing him to stick to any wall and, as a result, find new routes within stages. High resolution artwork and two screenshots from an unknown, presumably new zone–are available in the gallery below.
Second, to something not yet affirmed, but pretty solid seeing as it’s an eyewitness account. Comments from Spindash.de‘s Spark circulating around the community suggest an additional Wisp is available at the Gamescom show floor–a green one that, according to Spark, “changes Sonic’s form to a green Kirby with spikes, sonic heroes-shiny effect included.” He describes the Wisp as a “hovercraft” of sorts, where you can use Sonic’s light speed dash to grab rings in chains.
The green Wisp has not yet been officially unveiled, but we expect that to change shortly.
