Demo Coming in “Couple of Days”
We continue our coverage of the pending first release of Sonic Fan Remix today with a video of the game’s third act, uploaded to YouTube courtesy of Russian scener Woun.
This is one of the longer peeks of the game in action, and we must warn you it was not recorded under ideal circumstances, so things like the frame rate shouldn’t deter you. What could deter you in the occasional control hiccup–in particular the spot at 11 second where it appears Sonic shoots into the air with no apparent assistance. UPDATE: The original video we had this morning has since been removed, and replaced with a longer, more than 1 minute video. That has since been reflected below.
The game is still very pretty, and its creator pelikan13 has stated it “should be available in the next couple of days.”
Check out the video below, and if you haven’t peeked at them already, we have 24 new screenshots from the game’s three acts to share from yesterday. Thanks to Woun for sending this in. If you have news to share, be sure to share it with us by clicking News Tips at the top of every page.

Umm…what just happened at 0:11? The game looks really pretty, but the physics may need some work.
I wonder where we’ve heard that before…
@Some Guy
The person playing in this video is pressing the Z key, which boosts the player’s speed instantly. It’s meant for debug testing and shouldn’t be there in the public release when it comes out (I’m obviously a beta tester btw). Why the person decided to use it while recording this video is beyond me, as it makes the gameplay look erratic.
@The Taxman
Oh.
Well, I guess you’re right. It was pretty stupid to use that in a demo video.
And then he dies at the end. Not very good advertising.
Yeah, keep in mind this guy who made the video isn’t Pelikan13. I don’t think he would have wanted this stuff leaked out but it’s inevitable when beta testing is done in a non-commercial environment.
The glowing trail behind the scattered rings Sonic loses is the singlemost stunning effect I have ever seen in a Sonic game. That is pure genius.
This video made by some kid, who manage to get the demo before release. No wonder why this video is weird.
IT’s GONE!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Apparently Yuji Naka himself retwitted something along the lines of “the Sonic Fan Remix is 256 times better than Sonic 4″. I’m at work right now, received the news by e-mail and the link is blocked for me.
If anyone’d care to check the source, these are the links:

Thanks alot Woun
Man, that looks HARD. Sonic keeps losing rings from slamming into badniks without a chance to avoid them ’cause he’s just going way too fast. I can see why the Z key speed boost wouldn’t be included in the released, completed game.
I got a headache just watching it. Doesn’t mean it’s not cool, though, but it’s certainly got to increase one’s heart rate just to play it. Not sure if this is such a good thing or not, but what do I know? I hardly ever play the games anyway. Spend too much time on Neopets for that.
Such impressive work for a two man team hope they keep that way instead getting bloated like all the other fan projects

@Werefraud
No and never
Sonic Nexus is 1000x better than effect pré graphics and puluation graphics on Fan Remix.
Why hasn’t Sega hire this guy?
I was never really impressed with this fan game…I mean it looks good and all (It’s a pretty Sonic 2)…I would play it, but it isn’t anything mindblowing.
