Inside the Pages: Nintendo Power’s Sonic Colors Review

“It is sure nice to see Sonic back in the fray”–Scans Included

Immediate kick-off to gameplay.  About seventy percent of platforming in 2D.  Good controls.  No camera issues.  Desire to collect extras.  Minimum storytelling.

Is this really Sonic Colors–and 3D Sonic in of itself–as we truly imagined it?

Apparently so, if you read the whole of Nintendo Power’s review of the game, which affirms previous reports of a 9/10 rating for the Wii version, and a 7.5/10 for the DS.  On the Wii side, the only real complaint was recycling of boss battles, while the DS was marked down for the quick nature of the portable edition–on par with a 3 or 4 hour experience, in their estimation.

The Wii review closes with this point of praise:

This is the game that Sega’s fleet footed mascot has deserved for years, and I would definitely love to see a second installment.

You have to see it to believe it–which is where the scans below come in.  Courtesy of SegaMedia which posted them a few days, ago, you can see the direct scans from Nintendo Power, in good quality.  The four pages of relevance are below.
