First @ TSSZ: Latest Wentos 4chan Log Surfaces

Clarifying M&S Speculation, and…Sonic Colors HD?
TSSZ News has obtained through a couple news tips the log of Wentos’s alleged return to 4chan’s video game boards.

For those unaware, we’re again talking about a member of that forum under the handle Wentos the Travelling Salesman.  He claimed to work in Sega’s localization department in 2009, as he revealed the next main Sonic title would be in the style of Sonic Unleashed’s daytime stages–which fits Sonic Colors perfectly.  He is a Nostradamus of sorts for many Sonic fans, and as it turns out, he had plenty more to say than what we had from memory on Friday.

“We will do you proud,” was one of his remarks near the onset of the conversation.

From there, he fielded a question about an alleged third Mario & Sonic title first reported to exist a couple weeks ago at Gamefest Madrid.  The man known as Wentos didn’t just say it wouldn’t necessary be sports related…he said it’s not a sports game, period.

“Without giving anything away…this time, it’s not a sports game,” he said.  “It’s turning out quite well.  I think some of you may be a little surprised.”

Regarding Sonic Colors, Wentos explained its current exclusivity to the Wii and DS; a combination of cost-effectiveness and current momentum toward Sonic on the platform made it an easy call, in his words.  That call was also made due to Sonic Unleashed selling better on the Wii than any other platform.

“…Wii/DS is a much more cost-effective pairing, especially for an ‘experimental’ Sonic game like this where they needed the financial and developmental freedom to craft 50+ (!) stages,” Wentos said.

We said “current excluisivity” to Wii and DS because, according to this man of mystery, Sega would consider porting Colors to HD consoles like XBOX 360 and PS3–but only if what exists sells like hotcakes.

“The technology and design plan is all set up to do the port on Sonic Team’s end,” Wentos said.  “Of course, they need strong sales to justify releasing it on the other two platforms (with enhancements, more money spent, etc) in the first place, so it’s all up to you guys.”

We don’t blame you if you feel a bit skeptical in the face of all these predictions.  Check out the log for yourself, and draw your own conclusions in the comments section.
