3D SFG Achievement Now a Multiplatform Affair
Since last week’s formal release of Sonic Fan Remix, two ports have surfaced. One is meant to solve the issue of a landscape much too colorful by offering a Black and White edition. But the second is much more useful to users of the Mac.
A port of SFR to Apple’s platform is now available. It means the Unity based SFG, once only available to Windows users, can now be enjoyed on both principal platforms. So, if you’ve missed out on what everyone’s been talking about in recent weeks, now is the time to catch up.
We also want to update you on what was a small scare last week when RapidShare pulled the download link to SFR on copyright concerns. It appears that incident was and will remain an isolated one. Requests for comment on the matter to several members of Sega’s community team and Sega’s legal team on the matter were not returned. Considering discussion about the SFG continued unabated, if not consolidated, on Sega’s own forums, it appears the company has no problem with the game, or many comments by fans that it plays better than Sonic 4.

I hope they DO have a problem with the comments about it being better than Sonic 4 (whether they be true or not).
Perhaps they’re not exactly sharing that sentiment with us, but I hope they take this as a major incentive to step up their game. Pun intended.
Yeah, I agree: both games have their plusses and minuses, but there are some things SFG got right that Sega has NO excuse for ignoring. Absolutely no excuse.
Woops, error:
SFR, not SFG
TSSZ vs Sonic 4?
compare fangame is really idiot
Compare sonic 4 with fan remix = compare sonic CD with nexus
Don’t have “nexus”.
@Goodman
If you read SFG as “Sonic Fan Games” then your statement is just as true, regardless. lol
Wow this guy is working hard xd
I got it to work on my Mac, but I’ll have to play with the settings a bit. Acts 2 and 3 are unplayable due to a strobe effect I get with the screen flashing. O_o It’s only slightly there in Act 1, if I choose the highest resolution and “Fast” graphics quality.
It sure plays pretty well! =D
I’d really like to see that Mushroom Hill concept ported to this engine, that’d be sweet. I know it was just a video but this guy could easily make it a reality, all the physics seem right.
