All 50 of Them, with Some New Modes and Stages Revealed
The French website Succes Full revealed over the weekend the fifty achievements available for the Kinect exclusive Sonic Free Riders, out later this week in North America.
Together they total about 1,000 points, and a few of them give clues to some of the game’s modes. Didn’t know about Ring Collection or Damage Survival mode? Thanks to the list below, you do now.
Also noteworthy: It appears Sega have divided the stages up into “standard” and “expert” courses. In addition to Dolphin Resort and Rocky Ridge, stages like Frozen Forest, Metropolis Speedway, Magma Rift, Forgotten Tomb, Final Factory, and Metal City can be played twice over, for an assumed total of 16 unique courses.
There are even achievements for taking damage from some of the game’s wacky weapons. Check out the full list below.

Fuck the Kinect. It’s gonna be the Next Gen 32X, just wait and see. It’s gonna fail and leave a hole in Microsoft’s wallet.
What I can’t get my mind off of is why they would think using your hands as steering wheels is considered “getting yourself into the game” when Ironicly, they already have Steering Wheel Controllers, that make racing games MORE REALISTIC than the ones on the Kinect.
Yes I know that Sonic FreeRiders will controll different, but I just can’t believe Microsoft would release a 150 goddamn dollar addon that’s doomed to fail. What’s even MORE suprising is how they are basically just copying PS2-3′s Eye-Toy. WICH COSTS ALOT LESS!
I’m looking forward to this.
@hsvelocity
How do you know Kinects handle controls aren’t as realistic as the steering wheels? You haven’t played it yet. And the Kinect might not fail. As soon as it gets some more interesting games, I’m sure people will start buying it.
And the PS2′s eyetoy sucked. All it did was recognize motion, ANY motion, in a set parameter. At least from what I’ve experienced. Not sure about the PS3′s Eyetoy, but does ANYONE make games for that? I haven’t heard of one, ever. Sure games USE it, but they don’t require it(From what I’ve seen).
@ Hsvelocity
you are right also what pisses me off that I 1000/1000 or 200/200 every Sonic game on the X360 and now this POS comes and will make me have to get a Natal
You cant have any fun with money, you cant play with it, you and your friends cant play football or something with it.
Just give it to someone else and get something fun! Does it matter that it will cost €150 for one time? You’ll have a lot fun with your friends after so I’m surely getting it. I cant wait to play this with my friends
And about the achievements, I’m going to get them all!!!!
I guess this one won’t have an actual story mode seeing as it doesn’t sound like there’s any really heroes and babylon versions of tracks unless there really drastic like all the water in the resort dries up to form the resort or the forest gets cut down to form metropolis
@Cero
Those could be the “Expert” tracks. I wish they’d have more tracks though, Riders always seems to have too few. They brought back one old one, but it’s just Metal City, should have been Sega Carnival/Illusion or 80′s/90′s Boulevard.
@ Hsvelocity
That’s like saying the wii is gamecube’s Next Gen 32X. People will eat it up for the innovation, and rightly so.
@EEE
Except that the Kinect is an add-on, like the 32X, and the Wii is an alternate system altogether. The Wii improved on the existing Gamecube’s power (insert “Wii being two GCs taped together” joke here), the Kinect pulls on the existing 360′s power (literally, and figuratively). They’re not the same, it’s an apples and elephants comparison.
Well, Kinect is aimed at people who haven’t heard about 32x. So it may work. Once. Unless there will be better titles than what we can see now.
@EEE The Wii is not an Addon. Therefore, it cannot be looked at as a ’32X’ in any way. Your logic is flawed.
@Monic What I meant was that in real life, Driving a car involves placing your hands on a steering wheel, and your feet on a pedal etc. You don’t move your hands around in midair like in the racing games for Kinect, wich, as I said before, is ironic, considering that the Kinect is SUPPOSED to be advertising itself as a product that “Gets you more involved in what you are playing”. Playing a racing game with the Kinect is less “realistic” and “involving” than using one of Microsofts ACTUAL steering wheel and pedal controls.
I was not saying that the Kinect’s controls did’nt work at all, even though from what I’ve head, they don’t.
dis game is so cool but i hate Jet and Amy’s voices. i like tails and knuckles voices.and why didn’t they put a costume thing on vector and metal sonic.
They should have put this game on the main consoles like Wii and PS3, not just for Xbox 360 Kinect.
