Sonic Free Riders New Video Double Feature

A Total of Nearly 25 Minutes of Gameplay Inside

It is now day 2 of Sonic Free Riders‘s release, as is the case for the peripheral required to play it, Microsoft’s Kinect for XBOX 360.  But Europeans have to wait until next week for purchase.  For them–and for those domestically still on the fence, this lengthy feature totaling two videos should help you make a decision.

The first is from GameTrailers, ripped to YouTube and tipped to us by Woun of the Russian Sonic Scene.  The video, about two minutes, is a hodgepodge of both solo and multiplayer elements from the game.  As was stated in their formal review, you can tell the player is having trouble controlling.

Those problems are even more evident in the more than 22 minute demo of SFR by Giant Bomb–including, we think,  founder Jeff Gerstmann.  There’s a fair bit of time and frustration spent in the tutorial stage with him learning to jump, and it gets no better during the actual racing.  It is a raw look taken from Giant Bomb’s all day playtest of Kinect Thursday, and may serve as the deepest, direct insight into the game yet, as you can hear all staff reactions and learn what they are and aren’t doing well as the controller.

So, if you have some time to sit down and take a look, the videos are below.  Again, credit goes to Woun for Youtubing the first video, and for Dr. Eggfang for providing the Giant Bomb link in a previous comment.  If you have news to share, be sure to share it with us by clicking News Tips at the top of every page.
