Sega’s Joypolis Holding Sonic Free Riders Tournaments

Play for Prizes…If you have the Credentials

Calling all Japanese Sonic fans–you don’t yet have a localized Sonic Free Riders in your country, and for that reason, this may interest you.

The website Andriasang reports Sega’s Joypolis amusement facilities will hold previews for the Kinect exclusive from November 20th through the 23rd.  In addition, tag racing tournaments will be held the 20th, 21st, and 23rd.  Winning couples in those tournaments each day get an XBOX 360, the Kinect peripheral, and a copy of the game.

Tournament participators must have a Joypolis ride passport while at the facility, which costs ¥3500–the equivalent of over $43 in US dollars.  Joypolis itself isn’t a free ride, either–there’s a ¥500 fee just to walk in the door.  With that kind of changing, you may be better off saving it for a proper in-store purchase of the game.
