Prepare for Spoilers…Especially on Which Version Has It
There are old school purists, and there are new generation purists. The old veterans hate when green eyes invade their 2D Sonic game. The new order has come to expect an epic Super Sonic battle with each major title.
The new order gets their wish in Sonic Colors, but only on the portable version. Super Sonic lives for the final battle, pitted against the Nega-Mother Wisp. To get all 7 Chaos Emeralds, you’ll need to unlock the 7th Special Stage, which you do by beating the computer in the Sonic Simulator while having a final tally of over 50 rings.
After completing the boss, you’ll get a heartfelt cutscene, some CG, the credits, and some nice end art. You’ll see it all before your eyes in the YouTube video below, so if you don’t want to be spoiled further, don’t watch. Thanks to Luís Libóriofor sending this to us. So, does this mean that the Wii version DOESN’T have a new final boss once all 7 Chaos Emeralds are collected?
So that’s DS exclusive or that will appear on Wii as well after getting the emeralds?
@GoldenHedgy
DS exclusive only
Wii has the good doctor as the final boss
@jetronic
what a bummer D:
another one of Sega’s evil schemes?
Like they did with Unleashed?
Ah, THERE it is! I was wondering where the hell it was.
I’m glad the Wii version doesn’t have this. Eggman is way better.
These games are so different, I’m starting to wonder why they bear the same name.
Well, basically, Egg Nega Wisp is the final boss of the Wii game, and the DS game has the REAL Nega Wisp as the final boss. Weird, but meh… I definitely prefer the Wii version’s final boss over the DS version’s.
That’s not to say I hate the look of the DS version, though. I love the cameos of all those characters.
@JordanFreeman:
They’re anyway not that much different like Sonic the Hedgehog and SONIC THE HEDGEHOG do.
Well, as much as it sucks that you don’t get to go super on the final battle, it’s nice to finally see Robotnik as the final boss in the Wii version, as he should have been for the past few games. But hey, we get to go super during the action stages. Which is cool and good to see again.
The only reason I’m not against this is the fact that it’s an optional battle. Turning the chaos emeralds into a plot device instead of a collectible was one of the dumbest things to happen to the franchise.
Super Sonic is cool and all, but EARNING him is what made him feel special – not throwing him in mandatory “rush forward at the super mega ultra boss” fights like they’ve done in almost every game since Sonic and Knuckles. They’ve become so cliche that they’re actually somewhat anti-climactic.
wow its amazing how sega allows this community to rip its videos and show them. i think its great cause i cant buy the game right now but if i had the money this would be on my christmas list XD.
After playing more of the Wii version I’ve got to say it not what I expect and doesn’t beat Adventure 1 & 2, 70%(if not more) is 2D and when it come to 3D it mostly on reals. Don’t get me wrong but don’t you think Sonic Team overdid in 2D, Sonic 4, Sonic Colors DS and most of the Wii version come on can’t we have a fully 3D game, I don’t know about you but I had enough of 2D, they should have made the Wii version a full 3D game with more platform and better control (easy to say huh).
Sorry, I much prefer the Eggman final boss on the Wii over this. While I’m not saying the portable Colors is bad, it’s just……it’s what people were expecting from the start: Have a big monster as the final boss while Super Sonic takes it down. It’s so big a cliché that even TVTropes mocks it. Granted it’s optional, but that’s how a “TRUE Final Boss” trope works. You ALWAYS have to furfill some kind of special condition to fight it.
Having Eggman FINALLY be the final boss as NORMAL Sonic is such a big breath of fresh air that it’s practically new to the franchise. ESPECIALLY in a 3D game, where Eggman was NEVER the final boss.
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
(You’ve been warned) Lets say you do unlock Super Sonic, if you can collect rings in the final battle (which you can) you can just go Super there and still end with a big finish, right? (I warned you already) END SPOILER END SPOILER END SPOILER END SPOILER ENDING SPOILER
I was talking about the Wii version by the way.
@ChaoticFox
Totally agree
Wow, nothing new, all the last sonic on ds looks like the same over and over again.
I plan on getting both versions of the game (the Wii and DS versions of Sonic Colors) but we’ll see. And it’s always good to read spoilers on what happens next.
Uh huh, ignoring all the complainers, I will get both versions of the game.
Is it just me, or does the Egg Nega Mother Wisp’s underside resemble the purple tentacles from the Argus Event that whisked the Nocturnes into the Twilight Cage?
That WOULD seem to indicate that this isn’t the first time Big Mama’s “gone bad”…
…or maybe Argus is her demented ex-husband. *snickersnort*
WHAT THE SECRECT BOSS IS NOT ON WII YET?! >:(
I’m going to take a wild guess and assume the Madworld writers didn’t work on the DS version.
“Unlimited Colors” > “Wahaha! I am Super Sonic and I will fly into ur eye!!!1″
Jus sayin’
@BlueLightning
I didn’t know what you were saying at first…good point lol Unlimited Colors FTW
