In Good Spirits for the Texas Crowd
If you were too preoccupied in the Sonic Colors hype this month–or simply blinked–you missed a rather momentous occasion that occurred several days ago in Plano, Texas.
We’re talking about the first domestic Sonic themed convention, SoniCon. Festivities ran from November 5th through 7th, and included complete and individual panels with many of the voices–in some cases, former voices–behind Sonic and friends.
In the video series below, only Mike Pollock remains active on the game roster. Former Sonic voice Jason Griffith is in attendance at the group session, and makes his first major appearance since the torch was passed to Roger Craig Smith. He is joined by Lisa Ortiz, Pete Capella, and Pollock. The four of them take questions from those in attendance, and the atmosphere, all things considered, was quite festive. Dan Green, the voice of Knuckles, even makes a cameo via telephone–albeit here in less than desirable quality.
Thanks to News Tipster Jordan, we have the four part panel recorded in video form, and available for your viewing, below. We thank him for sending this into us. If you have news to share, be sure to share it with us by clicking News Tips at the top of every page. In addition to this group panel, there were several separate panels with individual voice talent, and we’ll begin relaying those to you tomorrow on TSSZ News.

O. M.G.
I live super close to Plano and was even planning to go. Some guy at a summer anime convention told me about this!
But I thought it was in October and when I remembered, I thought it was too late and didn’t even bother trying to go. If I realized it was in November I would have made plans! I even knew the VA’s were gonna be there.
Man, someone slap me . . .
yep, Sonic is a gaming celeb
That’s Lisa Ortiz ? Wow she’s pretty I bet she’s prettier in person
This would have been great if the guy behind the camera would shut the hell up.
….Why didn’t this turn into a bloodbath? I demand sacrifices.
ok, wow, seriously camera guy… could you just keep quiet…?
anyways, aside from that, this is a great watch, even though I’m not really a fan of their voices
These fellas could have had a celebrated run as these characters if they only had a competent voice director.
Aw. I’m gonna miss these guys. Especially Griffith and Lisa.
