Jazwares’s Amaro Affirms Sonic Free Riders Figurines Out Soon

And Rouge to Follow in 2011

Those who can’t get enough of Sonic toys will have much more to look forward to very soon–that is, if you believe company product rep Joe Amaro.

Speaking Friday, and relayed on the Bumbleking forums by scener Aquaslash, Amaro said the first series out of the game will reflect the recent release of Sonic Free Riders.

“First off, the Sonic Free Rider [sic] figures should be hitting stores very soon,” Amaro said.  “We took our time on these to improve the quality.”

Since then, TSSZ News has confirmed Jet and Sonic among the planned releases.  You can pre-order these through some retailers.  They come individually and as a set of 2.  ToyGlobe has the set on sale for $18.95, with individual figurines as high as $10.95.

Amaro used the SFR announcement as a segue to address something we explored in January–toy quality.

“In fact I just got back from China, I was there for two weeks fixing things,” Amaro continued.  “I can’t say much (company policy) but I can say that we have made some HUGE changes that WILL result in extremely better quality product!”

Amaro also said there are plenty more Sonic branded toys in the pipeline, including a Rouge figuring planned for 2011.  He assured fans they will “be happy” when future announcements are made.  We’ll be sure to stay on top of those announcements for you.
