A Bit Late for April Fools
Yes, there are staunch defenders of the 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog among us. But could any of them rationalize buying it at more than a thousand dollars?
As an alternative to burning money, we found two EBay auctions selling the mostly abhorred 4 year old reboot at an incredibly high markup. The first, here, has a Buy it Now asking price of $999.99, with a $3.99 shipping cost tacked on for a prize package worth over one grand. Were this a prototype or even an officially fixed copy of the game it might be justifiable, but the seller admits its condition is just “acceptable”–with the risk you may not even get an instruction manual or box, even though one of the first labels seen for the auction is “factory sealed.”
If one of these weren’t offensive enough, the same Portland based seller has a second copy of the 2006 Sonic on auction, and at about the same price. Buying from this link nets you a small discount, bring the total to the low, low price of $911.99 plus shipping. The same conditions apply.
As the Holidays approach, it’s inevitable more of these will show up, gouging those unsuspecting. Remember: Friends don’t let friends buy the 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog.

2006 Sonic wasn’t THAT bad. It was screwed badly, yeah. But I enjoyed it.
I’ve always wanted an Xbox360 just to play this game… to see why everyone hates it.
the masochist in me is morbidly curious about playing the game… but if like, the game was priced at $5 or below.
music and graphics seem really nice at the very least… everything else seems to be a travesty according to just about everybody.
I thought the game was fun, very glitchy but has potential.
The story was a bit confusing though other than that, I enjoyed mostly Shadow’s and Silver’s gameplay.
and I only got my copy for $10.

I wonder if their rationale is the fact that Sega claims to have delisted the title. However, contrary to popular belief, I’ve seen copies of pretty much every “delisted” game at my local Gamestop AND Best Buy, at reduced prices no less.
Kinda counterproductive when the titles you’re trying to sweep under the rug are now being put in full view at bargain prices!

I also liked that piece of crap game. Full Gamerscore because I am just that much of a lamer.

The worst game i’ve played this gen, at $1000?… no thanks lol. If my copy worked overseas, i would happily mail it to anyone here free of charge, since its worth next to nothing at my local Gamestop

I got a 360 just for this game… and I’ve regretted it ever since. I traded the game in and got back $2.75. For even owning a game that shitty, I should’ve gotten a full refund with $20 interest so I could buy a better game.

I don’t actually understand all the hate that game receives but meh, anyone has their opinions. (though I understand it lags all the time ^^;)

I’ve recently started playing Sonic next-gen again to get the last gold medals I needed. got every single freaking S ranks. the only thing left is silver medals.
I was disappointed to hear they removed anything you’d get when getting all those gold medals

Friend let friend let their friends buy whatever they want you ignorant little tool. It’s their money and you have no control over what they want to buy. It’s an okay game, but I already own it so I wouldn’t mind looking at it.
Bought it used for $1.99. I could have gotten a meal at Taco Bell off the cheap menu for that, and it would have actually been worth it!
A game like this should be sold at $1.00 in a goodwill store not at $1,000 at ebay.
