Emerald Power in the Palm of Your Hand
Today, Sega re-released Sonic Spinball, this time for Apple’s mobile devices–the iPad, iPod Touch, and iPhone.
It’s in essence the same pinball spinoff you remember, and the screenshots Sega released as part of the launch won’t convince you otherwise. We have them in the gallery below. You’ll be controlling via a virtual D-pad. Interesting enough, the company claims you can play both the domestic or Japanese version–the latter having a couple different music tracks.
You’ll keep your personal jackpot as well, as you can buy Sonic Spinball on iOS for $2.99.

This game is actually pretty decent!!!
Wow, took me forever to beat this game, especially since you can’t save. “The Showdown” is brutal! Also I could never figure out why you could get like 15 emeralds, all blue
“Shall we port Sonic 3 & Knuckles to the iOS, guys?”
“ARE YOU INSANE?! LET’S PORT THAT SPINBALL GAME NO ONE REALLY CARES ABOUT TO THE iOS!”
SEGA board meeting.
Bouth this game for my Genesis. Spent a month playing it, finally beat it. Never played it again. This game is FREAKING HARD, frustratingly so. It’s harder than Super Meat Boy (not counting the Dark World).
