With it, a Possible Tracy Yardley Collaboration
Nothing official’s been announced yet regarding the 2011 Summer of Sonic in London, taking place this June, other than it exists. But celebrated Fleetway Sonic comic artist Nigel Dobbyn appears to be readying an appearance nonetheless.
“I’ve said I’ll do a cover for STC online’s anniversary issue next year. Any suggestions welcome. The final result will probably be available as a print at next year’s Summer of Sonic,” said Dobbyn at the end of November on his DeviantART account. He also hints at another special something, this time with current Archie Sonic comic artist Tracy Yardley.
“As should a joint effort between myself and Archie Sonic artist Tracy Yardley, which we’re discussing at the moment,” Dobbyn continued.
Responding to a reader question on whether Dobbyn himself is attending the 2011 SOS, he said “Planning to.”
So, at the very least, there’s the first tidbit on what to expect from the 2011 fan convention. With Sonic’s 20th anniversary at hand, it’s sure to be a good one. We’ll bring you developments as arrangements are officially made.

Meh. I never understood what anyone saw in his or any of the other STC artists’ ugly, off-model Sonic art. Take Amy, for example. Not once did they ever make Amy “man hands” Rose look anything close to the way she appeared in the games:

For years I listened to British Sonic fans brag about how their Sonic comic was so obviously superior to the American one, and then when I try to get into I’m bombarded with ugly art and bizarre deviations from game canon (Super Sonic is a separate, evil entity?).
^”Amy ‘man hands’ Rose”? Lol, that’s my new nickname for her from now on. Forever.
