Will We Really Get “More of the Same?”
It may be a preview in name only, but the latest issue of the Official Nintendo Magazine in the UK at least touched on the top of the next episode of Sonic the Hedgehog 4.
The blurb was transcribed today by Doctor MK, SSMBer and chair of the Sonic Relief campaign. Nothing concrete was disclosed, but the magazine did hint at one of the core side characters making a playable return. In all likelihood it would be Tails or Knuckles “at a push,” said the magazine. It’s the last few sentences that may catch your attention:
Other than that, we’d expect more of the same from Episode II. More loops, more speed, more proper old-school Sonic physics and more awesome fake Mega Drive music complete with rubbish drum samples. Just the way we like it.
The physics in Sonic 4 have been a key point of contention for veteran fans in Episode I. The word “proper” offers a glimmer of hope for a near overhaul, but if “more of the same” holds, will those fans hold out, or feel recently established communication with Sega’s community team was for naught? Right now, our poll indicates almost two thirds of our readers would still buy Episode 2, even if the game had no physics changes. Your opinion on it is welcome in the comments area.
