Most Successful Community Charity Drive Ever
They played nearly 30 Sonic games–good, bad, and ugly–over nearly a week. For the team behind Respawn Point, that time paid off not for them, but for who they were supporting.
In all, more than 130 donators gave to their effort in the first organized Sonic Marathon over the past several days. History was made to the tune of $2,525, making it by far the most successful charity fundraiser in the Sonic community’s history. All of that money goes to Child’s Play, the Penny Arcade founded initiative which benefits children’s hospitals around the world. Considering their original goal was just $500, the drive was a monumental success, and one that almost certainly will be repeated in the future.
In ending the drive on such a high note, organizers remained succinct and humble on their Twitter feed, and optimistic for what’s ahead.
“Here’s to next year!” read their latest Tweet.

YHE the SONIC community is all together again
Oh wow. They helped poor sick children in need of money to fund hospitals by playing shitty (amongst some brilliant gems, considering they played the franchise’s entire main titles in the marathon) games. Seems the Sonic fanbase is useful for something after all!
I’m being serious with my appreciation. An admirable job they did indeed. Here’s to making a better world and healthier children.
@Greg the Cat
Yes… that they…. did….
The Sonic community gathering together to play games and raise money for something that’s actually important and not some shitty petition boycotting against mundane nitpicks that really shouldn’t matter in terms of playing a Sonic game?
…Is it the end of the world already?
