But Nobody Knows Why
The last update to Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I for iOS enabled devices added Game Center into the mix. But for the moment, aside from a bug fix or two, no one’s really sure what the newest append, dubbed version 1.2, does.
The update went live Wednesday evening without any fanfare. The Sega blogs didn’t say anything about it, and there weren’t any update notes on the download itself. So, nobody has a clue as to the significance. Do you? Send us a news tip and enlighten all of us.

I think this could possibly be for compatibility for Sonic 4: Episode II, but for obvious reasons I’m not sure yet.
Read the S4E1 thread on Retro Webber admits to talking out of his ass about the physics and design of Sonic 4 during the Needlemouse hype train during Jan-Feb of 2010.
Sickens me how the attitude changes the second he posts there, they all turn into brownnosers and even bring up bullshit like “I thought the minecart looked cool” Webber is worthless he isn’t going to fix anything, if he pulled this same shit a couple years ago he would have been digitally crucified, instead he gets a legion of sycophants and half heated jabs from passive aggressives.
@Sonical
Okay… ?
Well. Sonic 4 mobile in Game Center has been talked since few days later its release… So, I think this is the reason for this update.
@Sonical: This has what to do with the topic at hand?
Webbers a PR guy anyway; he never could fix anything to do with the game. That’s up to the devs. As for how Webber was treated, yes, lets just run everyone off the internet. We have to be massive dicks to people because we’re angry about a pixalated hedgehog and we’re hidden behind funny screen names anyways. Shame on those Retro members.
Sonical, at least Webber posted on the Retro forums encouraging the S2HD team for their work of labour. Instead of firing a Cease and Desist. And that’s pretty decent of Sega.
I have maintained a skeptical attitude about him since his comments after the release of Episode 1 (like the ones you cite), but let’s have hope. Right now Webber is all we’ve got, I wish him luck because his mission is a REALLY difficult one.
Those posts reek of grooming I don’t take anything he says about those projects sincerely.
Webber:Project X sure is great keep up the great work
Poster A:I sure feel bad about shitting on Sonic 4 now I better buy 3 copies of it now!
Webber:Bwahaha
@dl316bh
This is simply the way of life in this segment of the community,
Hahahaha I don’t believe anyone on Retro would EVER feel bad about shitting on Sonic 4.
….
Hopefully.
They now appear to have added “Bug Fixes” to the description. At least thats what it says for me when using iTunes. (Whereas when I updated it on my iPod Touch a couple of days ago it was blank)
What Andre said. Not going to be an asshole to Webber of all people because as of now he’s the only guy even listening to us, and that’s more than what Iizuka could be applied for.
@Sonical,
Of course Aaron isn’t going to fix anything about the game, he’s a PR man for chist’s sake.
@Sonical: What Sonic needs is Harvey Dent.
