One Among 15 Coming March 25th
Nintendo today released its launch lineup for the Nintendo 3DS in Britain and the rest of the United Kingdom, and the list confirms Sega’s Super Monkey Ball 3DS will be among fifteen launch titles for the handheld come March 25th.
Aiai, Gongon and the gang will have some tough competition. Other launch fare includes Super Street Fighter IV 3D Version from Capcom, Pilotwings Resort from Nintendo, three different editions of Nintendogs + Cats, Namco’s Ridge Racer 3D, EA’s The Sims 3, and many others.
The full list is below. We’ll be watching to see if SMB 3DS can withstand some very healthy competition amid the 3DS launch–and also to see if the game will be a confirmed launch title domestically.

- nintendogs + cats: Golden Retriever & New Friends (Nintendo)

Personally I think Super Monkey Ball is one of the strongest titles there. I’ve already paid off my 3DS pre-order in full but I’m actually struggling to justify buying any of the launch titles.
Most of these games fall into the “only buy because they’re launch titles” category. Would anyone even consider buying Asphalt or Steel Diver if they were released a year after the 3DS?
Me 2. I preordered the 3ds but don’t think to buy a launch title
These launch titles are actually pretty damned pathetic. The only one which justifies buying a 3DS at launch is Super Street Fighter IV, and even then most people who want it already have it. Same goes for the Splinter Cell games. Probably going to wait for Zelda and Kid Icarus to come out first.
